“My Passion for IT has motivated me!”
Christian, one of Pall Mall Medical’s first apprentices, had already gained a wealth of first-hand experience – from working for his Father’s decorating business and helping with electrical devices. He gained solid experience within a technical environment by securing a role as a trainee network technician, allowing him to develop his networking skills – “the hands-on roles I had only made me want to peruse a better understanding of IT”
In 2012 Christian, now having a better understanding of the digital world, was ready to absorb more knowledge, whilst putting his new skills to use. “For me, I knew it was time to find a line of work that would constantly allow me to learn, whilst practically getting involved”. This led him to an ‘advanced ICT’ apprenticeship, which offered him the whole package of understanding the “blueprint of IT”. Part of the apprenticeship was for Christian to find a workplace that was willing to give him the experience he needed to complete his course.
Luckily, after the intense search for an ideal business that would give Christian the high level of experience he so desperately needed, Pall Mall Medical – a fairly new company at the time – found him. Pall Mall Medical was able to offer Christian with a range of roles, that would see him working with NHS England’s major IT providers, to project manage the installation of Pall Mall Medical’s network. After a year of his apprenticeship, Christian completed his course with flying colours achieving the highest awarding certificate.
“I am grateful for the professional environment Pall Mall Medical provided for me as I was able to discover my potential in this line of work”.
For Christian, the offer of full-time employment after his apprenticeship was a “no-brainer”.
“Pall Mall Medical made me feel welcomed straight away, and the rapid expansion was going to give me the perfect opportunity to further develop my IT skills.” Christian has been at Pall Mall Medical for 3 years and has truly gained a rich understanding of IT.
“I was given the chance to do a job that I found stimulating, enjoyable and influential and I can only thank Pall Mall Medical for it”.
