A professional radiographer will generate a detailed image of the inside of your body. Unlike X-rays, MRI scans do not use any forms of radiation.

Bowel cancer is the second biggest cause of death in the UK with 16,300 deaths every year.
In the UK you don’t qualify for the NHS bowel cancer ‘FIT’ test until you’re 60 but 10% of colorectal cancer cases are diagnosed in people aged under 50 and 73% are diagnosed at later stage of the disease.
The most common symptoms of colorectal cancer are:
- a change in bowel habit and frequency
- diarrhoea

- blood in the stool

ColoAlert combines the conventional FIT test with advanced German engineered sDNA technology (stool DNA) to detect blood (FIT test) and mutated DNA (sDNA) for the early detection of Bowel Cancer (Colorectal Cancer) before any symptoms or bleeding may occur.
This offers better early detection than faecal occult blood tests alone. Bowel cancer can be cured if detected early. ColoAlert detects 85% of colorectal cancer cases and often in very early stages of the disease.
The ColoAlert Plus Test is an at-home Bowel Cancer Screening Test to detect DNA changes AND blood in the stool. which may indicate the presence of cancerous or precancerous growths in the bowel. This difference with this test is that it also counts abnormal quantities of Bowel Cancer cells present in the stools sample h(DNA). Bowel cancer patients have a larger quantity of cells in their bowels indicating cancer.

A Virtual Colonoscopy uses a CT scan to image the colon, rectum and small intestine. It’s a less invasive procedure than a conventional colonoscopy that allows our consultants can now examine the inside of your colon from the outside of your body using detailed X-Rays.
It helps to diagnose issues in the colon and bowel, including polyps, diverticulosis and cancer. It also allows the specialist to have a detailed look at other organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder and spleen, should they need to.
A radiologist reviews the images from the virtual colonoscopy to look for polyps on the inside of the colon that can sometimes turn into colon cancer.
