Emotional Freedom Technique Therapy (EFT Tapping)

“The true cause of negative thoughts, emotional feelings and physical symptoms, is an energy block along one or more of the body’s meridians,” Gary Craig, founder of EFT Tapping.

Emotional Freedom Technique, otherwise known as EFT Tapping, is a highly effective self-help tool which can be used to release mental, physical and emotional issues.

EFT Tapping was featured on the BBC TV news in January this year, after doctors in the Midlands funded pilot tests to be carried out on its effectiveness.  Of 36 patients suffering from stress, anxiety and depression, all but one were relieved of their issues after using this therapy for just a very short period of time.

The outcome didn’t surprise me as I’ve been successfully using EFT Tapping with my clients since 2005, as a way to treat patients without the use of drugs which merely mask the symptoms without addressing the underlying cause.

How EFT Tapping Works

EFT Tapping is derived from the ancient Chinese healing method of acupuncture, which works by balancing the invisible energy lines, or meridians, which flow through the body. However, unlike acupuncture, EFT Tapping is a self-help tool which is easily learned so anyone can use it on themselves. It involves stimulating specific points on the face and upper body by tapping with the fingertips while focusing on the unwanted emotion.

The physical tapping causes electromagnetic signals to pass through the connective tissue to the parts of the brain related to emotions, known as the amygdalae.

Delta brainwaves are increased, the unwanted emotions are decreased and eventually they are completely released, usually within a very short space of time and sometimes within only one session.

EFT Tapping works to release any negative mental or emotional issues including stress, anxiety, sadness, anger, frustration, fears, phobias, OCD, and also to heal various physical ailments and disorders which have been brought on by stress and other negative emotions. Blood pressure can quickly be normalised, aches and pains relieved, and there are many cases reported of people healing themselves from illnesses considered to be incurable, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer.

Getting Started with Emotional Freedom Technique Therapy

In most cases, it’s necessary to initially work with a qualified therapist to learn how to use EFT Tapping and to get to the root of the problem rather than merely address the symptoms.
