The Derma Roller (also known as a skin roller or microneedle roller) is a revolutionary hand-held device, which has the ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin to promote healthier skin cells in the body. Using 200 extremely fine medical-grade needles, the derma roller painlessly creates microchannel in your skin which triggers the body's natural healing process to create new, healthier tissue to replace the imperfections of older skin.

By renewing your skin cells regularly, you will be able to treat common problems we experience as we age, such as wrinkles, skin hyperpigmentation, scars (including acne scars), uneven skin, stretch marks, hair loss. It can also be used to simply create smoother skin.

What effects does Derma Roller Treatment have?

Derma Roller treatment provides advanced micro-medical skin-needling, a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

Derma rolling is a natural skin regeneration and Scar Repair Therapy also used in the process of stretch mark removal.

There are many reasons why people choose to have Derma Roller treatment:

  • Aged and sun damaged skin
  • Scars (including acne)
  • To reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face and decolletage
  • Rejuvenate hands and minimise signs of ageing
  • Revitalise aged and sun damaged skin
  • The removal of stretch marks

Derma roller therapy utilises sterile single-use medical devices. Kat will use a Derma roller medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly, often on the same day.

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required depends on the problem being treated:

  • Rejuvenation –   3 treatment course
  • Acne Scarring – 5 treatment course
  • Stretch Marks – 5 treatment course

There will be approximately 2-3 weeks between treatments.

Can I wear Makeup after the treatment?

We advise that makeup is not applied for 24 hours after the procedure and a strong UVA/UVB sunscreen is recommended following the treatment.

How long will the results last?

The results from a derma roller treatment are permanent. As it is a repair of the skin it does not revert after a given time period. Derma roller for fine lines and wrinkles will improve the skin; however, it will not stop skin ageing and new lines forming. The Derma Roller (also known as a skin roller or microneedle roller) is a revolutionary hand-held device, which has the ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin to promote healthier skin cells in the body.
