Wart & Skin Tag Removal Including Cryotherapy

Book your appointment

As part of our minor surgery services at Pall Mall Medical, we are able to offer expert wart removal and skin tag removal by Cryotherapy or Excision at our clinics in Manchester, Liverpool, and Newton-le-Willows.

Get rid of unsightly warts, verrucas & skin tags

Pall Mall Medical offers three types of wart & skin tag removal, these are by Cryotherapy, surgical Excision or by Hyfrecator. The procedures are completed only by trained medical professionals at our CQC certified clinics that are conveniently located in the city centres of Liverpool and Manchester, or at our hospital in St Helens (Newton-Le-Willows). You can have your wart removed by a private GP or Consultant Surgeon.

If you are seeking investigation, treatment or removal of suspicious skin lesions, lumps, bumps and cysts or mole removal, please see our Dermatology department for an appointment with a Consultation Dermatologist who can provide a full examination and discuss next steps or treatment options.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy freezes the wart using liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin cells until they die, which kills the root of the wart or verrucae. The cryotherapy treatment normally involves 5-10 seconds of the liquid spray being applied with a break of 1-2 minutes between treatment cycles.

Cryotherapy is an affordable, safe, quick and reliable way to treat warts, skin tags, and other skin lesions. However, this procedure may require repeated visits depending on the size, location and how the wart responds to treatment. Each visit is chargeable.

What can Cryotherapy treat?

Cryotherapy provides effective treatment for a range of tissue damage including the following:

  • Seborrhoeic keratoses
  • Skin tags
  • Solar keratoses (sun damage)
  • Sun spots
  • Verrucas
  • Viral warts
  • Various other skin lesions including some types of skin cancer.

What is Excision?

Excision of a wart of skin tag involves minor surgery under local anaesthetic. Due to the procedure, excision including use of a Hyfrecator is done by our Consultant Surgeons. Excision has the main benefit of permanently removing the wart or skin tag as a result, there are NO repeated visits needed. If the wart or skin tag is of a suspicious nature, our Consultant may suggest sending for pathology for further investigation.

Wart & skin tag removal prices

At Pall Mall Medical, one of our skin specialists can examine your lesion to ensure it is properly diagnosed before treatment. Some lesions, such as the skin cancer melanoma should not be treated with cryotherapy.
