What is the Elipse Weight Loss Balloon?

The Elipse Balloon is the first gastric balloon that requires no surgery, endoscopy, or anesthesia for placement or removal. The balloon creates a feeling of fullness, allowing you to eat less without the hunger that accompanies most diets.  The food you do eat stays in your stomach longer, reinforcing the feeling of fullness and enabling you to skip snacks between meals. When combined with diet and lifestyle changes, the Elipse Programme can lead to meaningful weight loss: following 16 weeks of therapy, patients lose 15kgs on average.

Our consultant gastroenterologist surgeon Dr Bassi will conduct a thorough examination and investigate your medical history to confirm that the Elipse Balloon is right for you. The Elipse Balloon is placed during a brief 20-minute visit to our privately owned hospital in Newton-Le-Willows and most people can return to normal activities immediately following placement.

During the program, a smart scale connects you with your dedicated dietician Lucy Jones and allows her to track your progress, providing real-time advice and support, helping you stay on track.

Four months after placement, the Elipse Balloon automatically deflates and passes naturally, without the need for a procedure or even an office visit for removal. By the time your balloon passes, your body will be accustomed to feeling healthy and energized with smaller portions.

What happens during
Elipse Balloon treatment?

From your first call or email, we’re here to look after you. Whether you're still researching about breast enlargement surgery and would like more information, or you're ready to meet a surgeon to see what results you can achieve, our team of Patient Co-ordinator's are here to help.

At Pall Mall we pride ourselves at being with you on every step of your journey and therefore before you undergo Breast Enlargement surgery there are a number of steps that we take. Primarily, at the consultation, the surgeon will ask you about your medical history and examine your chest area.

There will then be a discussion about the different sizes available to you as well as the types of implants. This will take around 20-45 minutes, and which point you will have a better idea of exactly what you want, the surgery itself and any risk that may be involved.

A nurse will perform a series of checks on your health prior to your surgery, so we request that you come in for an appointment. Here you will be checked for MRSA as well as possible undertaking a urine or blood test. We just want to make sure there are no complications further down the line and calm any nerves or anxieties you might have!

Your surgeon will also check your chest and take photos so that we have a medical record before the changes occur. Please use this opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns and our amazing team will be happy to help.

When the day of your surgery arrives you will be greeted at the hospital by our staff and shown to your comfortable and spacious room. They'll be a quick check-up to make sure you're feeling well and healthy enough for the operation and then you'll be taken to theatre for the surgery.

The operation, which will take two hours, will then begin and the implants you have selected will be placed either behind the breast or behind the breast and chest muscle.

After this surgery, you will be able to go home on the same day however you will be required to wear a sports bra for several weeks to help your breast settle.

We will also arrange for you to come in for further appointments after one week, two weeks and six weeks. This way we can manage your progress and also give you the support so you don't feel alone and anxious about any complications.

Please bear in mind that everyone recovers at their own rate, but avoid your normal activities for at least 2 weeks.

Our aftercare programme put you at the centre and our staff are committed to helping you at every stage of your recovery. We'll be in contact with a 24/7 support line to connect you to our industry-leading nurses and make sure you are completely happy with your surgery.
