Directors of Pall Mall Medical, Dr Sanjay & Dr Shikha Pitalia, have been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the English Asian Business Awards.
Presented by the Lloyds Banking Group, the glittering ceremony held in Manchester took place on 29th September. The evening was one of recognition, with over 300 people celebrating the success of entrepreneurs from the Asian business community throughout England. Accolades included Business of the Year, Online Business of the Year and Young Achiever of the Year, amongst others.
Sixteen awards were presented on the evening, but the most prestigious - the Lifetime Achievement Award, went to Drs Pitalia.
The husband and wife team head up Pall Mall Medical, a private healthcare company with state-of-the-art facilities in Manchester, Newton-le-Willows and Liverpool. The company has changed the face of private healthcare, offering experienced GPs, consultants and surgeons with no waiting lists, as well as access to industry leading diagnostics, through an array of scans and tests. 1,500 services are offered by over 200 medical professionals, hand-picked for their cutting edge credentials and patient-led approach.
Speaking of their award, Dr Shikha Pitalia said “We are both incredibly passionate about bringing an entrepreneurial and business perspective to healthcare, and are incredibly honoured and humbled to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award. The English Asian Awards are a great initiative, and it is so inspiring to hear the success stories coming from all parts of the Asian business community across England”.
Dr Pitalia also added “With the backing of the Lloyds Banking Group, the awards carry credibility and prestige, as well as raising funds for a very valuable cause. The Awards have not only become a celebration of great ideas that have turned in to successful businesses, but also somewhat of a forecast, highlighting the future stars among the English Asian business community”.
Martyn Kendrick, area director for SME Banking in the North West, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said “Having met with the talented professionals at the English Asian Business Awards on Monday evening, I was impressed by both the variety and quality of businesses in the competition. I’d like to offer my congratulations to this years winners”.
The English Asian Business Awards also helped to raise over £3,500 for the official charity partner, The Well Foundation, who aim to raise money to build wells, install hand pumps and establish health and sanitation programs to provide accessible clean water to stricken regions of the world.
