What is a Mummy Makeover?

A Mummy Makeover targets all of the areas that can be affected by pregnancy and childbirth, helping you regain your pre-baby body and embrace a newfound confidence.

During your free consultation with one of our surgeons, you can customise your Mummy Makeover to align with your specific desires and goals.

Here’s a brief introduction to our Mummy Makeover surgeries and how they are carried out:

Tummy Tuck

The patient is under general anaesthetic when we make an incision in their lower abdominal area, remove excess skin and fat, tighten the abdomen’s connective tissue and reposition the remaining skin.

Breast Uplift Surgery

We will sedate you with a general anaesthetic before the surgeon detaches excessive skin from your breasts, reshapes the breast tissue and repositions the nipple.

Breast Enlargement Surgery

Once we have checked your blood pressure to confirm that you are well enough for the operation, your chosen implants will be placed either beneath or atop the breast muscle.

Liposuction

This removes excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, resulting in a more sculpted and contoured appearance.

Tummy Tuck

Maxine's Mummy Makeover Journey

Maxine Blundell — the Lead Nurse at our Newton-le-Willows hospital — had lost seven stone in just two years and been left with excess skin when she decided to have Mummy Makeover surgery at Pall Mall.

After recalling to us that she “didn’t want any more scarring than necessary”, she praised “the fantastic end result” of her Mummy Makeover with Pall Mall.

Our Mummy Makeover surgeries on average last around 4 hours in theatre.

On the day of your surgery you will be shown to your own spacious private Pall Mall room, with an en-suite, TV including Netflix and access to 24/7 care from our nurses.

A breakdown of the procedures included in our Mummy Makeover packages

There are various components to a Mummy Makeover, but it remains up to you which of them you choose for your own goals. This also depends on how your body has been affected due to child-birth.

Pall Mall is one of the few cosmetic surgery clinics in the North West to offer Free Consultations with a surgeon of your choice. This means you can have a comprehensive conversation about what surgery options are best suited to you in order to achieve your personalised goal.

There is never any pressure, though. All of our free-of-charge consultations are non-obligatory, so you can take as long as you need to consider how you’ll look and feel after surgery.

Our surgeons are here to give you all the information you need to help you feel confident in whatever decision you make

Tummy Tuck

Childbirth can leave you with loose skin around the stomach that exercise alone cannot remove or reverse. However, in this situation, you could opt for a Tummy Tuck.

Otherwise known as abdominoplasty, this cosmetic surgery procedure can rid the stomach area of excess skin as well as stubborn pockets of fat you might not have been able to shift even despite pursuing strenuous exercise.

Discover renewed confidence  with our Mummy Makeover surgery package. Pall Mall Cosmetics, helping you get back to loving your body again!

The Tummy Tuck options we offer include:

  • Mini tummy tuck
  • Full tummy tuck
  • Extended tummy tuck
  • Fleur De Lis (FDL) tummy tuck

It’s easy to contact us to learn more about our Tummy Tuck services and what results can be expected from each of them.

Fill out an enquiry form online, or give us a call on 0300 27 26 49.

Breast Uplift

There are numerous reasons why breasts can change in size or shape as a result of pregnancy.

You could find, for example, that your breasts become uneven due to your baby preferring to be breastfed from one side over the other.

With a Mummy Makeover from Pall Mall, you can have your breasts lifted or enlarged — or even both.

Breast uplift surgery can sometimes be referred to as simply a breast lift, which shapes the breasts into perkier and more youthful form.

Our skilled surgeons can expertly position your nipples and areolas to ensure symmetry and a pleasing alignment. Rest assured that we can help diminish your concerns about low or uneven breasts, as our meticulous approach will leave you with a naturally elevated and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Meanwhile, a breast enlargement — or a ‘boob job’ is about making the breasts visibly bigger by inserting implants either:

  • Between the breast tissue and chest muscle
  • Behind the chest muscle

It is your decision which of our breast surgery options you go ahead with — and a cosmetic surgeon from our team can talk you through them beforehand.

This is important, as the different breast treatments we offer can bring different results, and so you must consider what you specifically want to achieve.

At Pall Mall Cosmetics, we recommend waiting at least six months post-breastfeeding before scheduling a free consultation at one of our clinics in Manchester, Leeds or Liverpool.

This time frame allows the breasts to stop milk production and return to their normal or "new normal" size, which will give your consultant a more accurate picture from your natural breasts.

Liposuction and Fat removal

One of the most obviously challenging aspects of recovering from a pregnancy is shedding much of the fat you may have picked up in your journey towards becoming a mother.

Of course, it is possible to shift weight by combining a healthy diet with regular exercise.

However, if making this kind of lifestyle change has still left you with stubborn pockets of fat, you might want to consider liposuction.

Liposuction removes fat from stubborn areas, many mothers struggle with weight gained around their stomach, but you can target any area you are conscious about. This surgery will provide definition to your troubled areas by using a powerful vacuum to remove the pockets of fat and reshape / contour the area.

The most common mummy makeover is Liposuction combined with Abdominoplasty because you are able to achieve stomach definition, along with removed excess fat.

For optimal, long lasting results, we suggest waiting until you are finished having children to undergo your Mummy Makeover surgery.

How can a Mummy Makeover make you feel confident again?

We know that true beauty shines from within, but there's no denying the joy that can come from feeling amazing on the outside too.

A Mummy Makeover can be a catalyst for self-discovery and self-love, helping you embrace your beauty and enhance your overall well-being both physically and mentally.

The specific advantages you can enjoy from a Mummy Makeover will depend on the treatments you choose to include.

But let's talk about the amazing things that a Mummy Makeover can bring into your life:

Boosted self-confidence

Imagine feeling more comfortable and confident in your own skin, embracing your unique journey as a mother with pride.

Multiple insecurities worked on at once

Because this package comes with up to three surgeries at once, you can come out feeling completely brand new. If you've pondered over the different options for quite some time, rest assured that we can do it all at once (pending a review of your health and availability)

Quicker recovery time

The recovery period for a Mummy Makeover is notable, but it is more practical to have all the procedures done at once rather than separately. This is particularly useful for mothers with little ones at home!

Recovery and aftercare: Everything you need to know

We are asked — and have answered — many questions from our patients about what they can and can’t do after receiving cosmetic surgery.

During your free consultation and post-op appointments you will be given all your surgery details, along with an informational booklet to take home with you and read.

You will also be assigned your own personal patient coordinator who will be your direct point of contact for any appointment bookings and/ or questions that you may have pre surgery.

Here is some guided advice on how to recover after getting any of our Mummy Makeover procedures:

Tummy Tuck Recovery

It is crucial that you eat only light nutritious foods in the first 24-48 hours following surgery. You can particularly help your abdominal skin to heal if you consume foods rich in protein, vitamins and minerals.

Breast Uplift Recovery

Though your post-surgery breasts may initially look swollen or discoloured, this appearance will fade during the subsequent six months, as will the incision lines.

Breast Enlargement Recovery

Before you leave the hospital, you will be waring your compression bra which we ask you to wear it for several weeks after surgery. As a result, you can keep the breasts securely in place as they heal.

Liposuction Recovery

You will need to wear a compression garment for six weeks after receiving Liposuction surgery from Pall Mall.

Overview

Having herself received a Mummy Makeover with Pall Mall, our very own Lead Nurse Maxine Blundell has advised that patients who do likewise set aside “enough time to rest and recover properly.”

She emphasised that “the way you recover can impact the results of your surgery”, adding:

“Don’t feel like you need to rush back into your normal routine, have days where you just stay in bed to rest if you feel like doing that!”

The asking price of a Mummy Makeover surgery package from Pall Mall also covers our extensive aftercare service, enabling you to benefit from post-op check-up appointments with us for up to two years at no extra charge.

Post surgery, you will be put in contact with our patient care team who will be responsible for booking your post-op appointments with our nurse and surgeon. You will also have access to a 24/7 contact number for our nurses within the hospital if you have any concerns during your recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Our expert team are always hand to help, advise and arrange appointments with our specialist consultants.

How long until I see results from my Mummy Makeover surgery?

Recovery will depend on the different combination of surgeries you choose to have.

On average we say to wait at least 6-8 weeks to fully recover from your surgery.

How much does a Mummy Makeover cost?

Our mummy makeover prices start from £11,995.

The price of a mummy makeover is personalised to you and dependent on the combination of surgeries you choose to undergo.

But don’t worry about being blindsides with ‘suprise fees’ - as you’ll be given an accurate price during your free consultation which includes a comprehensive breakdown of what’s included and what to expect.

Our Mummy Makeover packages — just like the rest of our surgery packages — include all of the following:

  • Free consultation
  • All pre-op appointments
  • Standard tests, such as MRSA
  • Dedicated Patient Coordinator and Patient Experience Team
  • Post-op check-up appointments with both surgeon and nurse at Pall Mall (up to two years after the surgery)
  • Revision surgery if needed - although very rarely is this needed

This basically means that all of the above — along with the surgery itself — is covered in the overall price you pay for the Mummy Makeover.

At Pall Mall we have finance options available, you wouldn’t necessarily have to pay the whole price upfront.

You can use our finance calculator to see if you are eligible for a cosmetic finance plan that would let you spread the cost.

In order to secure your surgery date, you will have to pay a £500 deposit.

What should I expect during the consultation process?

You can choose to have your free consultation at one of our clinics in Liverpool, Leeds or central Manchester.

One of our actual surgeons will discuss with you exactly what you want to get out of the Mummy Makeover.

That way, the surgeon will be able to recommend a surgery package that would provide the specific results you seek for your body post child-birth.

The consultant will also account for other factors that you may have overlooked but could jeopardise the wisdom of you taking up a Mummy Makeover right now.

For example, you might have certain health issues that would leave this particular course of surgical treatment out of the question for you.

Alternatively, the consultant could identify an alternative treatment that would meet more of the right criteria for you. Keep in mind that Pall Mall offers a range of enticing cosmetic surgery solutions besides the Mummy Makeover.

Overall, your free consultation with Pall Mall will last between 20 and 45 minutes, affording you plenty of time to ask a wide array of questions.

I’ve only just given birth, so could I have a Mummy Makeover now?

The problem is that it can take some time after childbirth for your body to return to its pre-pregnancy weight and shape - or at least as close to both as it will get without surgical intervention.

It is generally advised that, before having any cosmetic surgery, you wait at least six months to a year after when you gave birth.

It would also be wise for you to postpone any plans for a Mummy Makeover if you intend to have any other children, as a tummy tuck isn’t designed to be provided to the same patient more than once.

How do I prepare for my Mummy Makeover?

Preparation for a mummy makeover is a simple and important step towards a successful experience. To ensure optimal results, follow these guidelines:

  1. Schedule your mummy makeover at least 6 months after completing breastfeeding.
  2. Refrain from smoking for a few weeks before surgery and during the post-surgery period.
  3. Make arrangements for someone to pick you up from our private hospital in Newton-Le-Willows
  4. Follow advice from your pre-op appointment about medications
  5. Give yourself enough time off work to properly rest and recover
  6. Avoid eating anything for eight hours before your scheduled surgery
  7. Arrive at your appointment without wearing makeup, jewellery, or perfume and acrylic nails.
The benefits of a Mummy Makeover?
  1. Multiple procedures conveniently performed in a single appointment.
  2. Customised surgical approach to meet individual expectations.
  3. Regain confidence in your body and clothes again with a more flattering fit.
  4. Improved breast cleavage and reduction in stretch marks.
  5. Restore your body to how it looked pre-pregnancy
  6. Significantly heightened confidence and self-assurance.
What can I expect after tummy tuck surgery?

After you have been discharged from our hospital after having a Tummy Tuck procedure, you would leave with pain relief, dressings and a support/pressure garment (corset) on your tummy, or tummy control pants. You will not be able to drive therefore someone would need to drive you home. It is recommended that you have someone stay with you for the following 24 hours after leaving hospital. Your support garment should be worn for 6 weeks for your comfort and to help with healing.

Your aftercare package with Pall Mall Cosmetics will include a full programme of post-operative care. This will involve clinical review/checks of your wounds to make sure you are healing well.
