Testing from

Coronavirus Antibody Test (£99) in clinic

The antibody test can detect if a person has had coronavirus in the past and has since recovered. It works by testing the blood for COVID-19 IgG antibodies to see if that person has already beaten the virus or had some previous exposure and therefore gained some immunity to it. Thus knowing there is a reasonable degree of safety for that person to return to work.

This is the most accurate antibody test currently available in the UK and it has recently been approved in May 2020 for use by Public Health England. Our Antibody tests are done at our clinics (Manchester or Liverpool city centre) for £99. You can book an appointment by calling us on 03300 58 44 55. You will be required to provide patient details for each test ordered.

If you're a business looking to book a large number of appointments, please call our bookings team who will be able to discuss our Corporate Testing Scheme with you in more detail.

There are currently delays with Royal Mail due to Christmas post.
Pall Mall is also closed from 1pm on Christmas eve until 9am on the 29th December which will affect testing times.

PCR (Swab) Testing & Fit to Fly Certificate

This test will identify people with the coronavirus now. The throat swab tests for the active virus - an essential step to identifying staff who may not be showing symptoms, but need to be quarantined from the workplace. It is also useful to distinguish between the virus and similar e.g. cold/flu symptoms for those choosing self-isolation. It can be used to rule out a current infection for people who are returning to work from sick-leave with the virus and for screening employees who have worked closely with others who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Our PCR tests can only be done at home and are available for £129. You can order single or multiple home test kits online or by calling us on 03300 58 44 55. You will be required to provide patient details for each test ordered.

Coronavirus testing for business

The return to work presents a major challenge for employers and protecting staff and their families from the risk of coronavirus needs to be a top priority.

Businesses are having to deal with the physical risks and emotional concerns of their staff returning to work and those who have continued to perform their duties. This is having a significant impact in the workplace, often resulting in staff absences and reduced productivity.

Our Coronavirus tests will:

  • Give staff the confidence to return to work safely
  • Screen workers who are unable to work from home
  • Identify employees who need to be isolated or quarantined
  • Create a protected environment in the workplace
  • Facilitate a faster recovery with fewer interruptions

If you're a business that requires multiple tests for your staff you can order online or call us on 03300 58 44 55. You will be required to provide patient details for each test ordered. For a callback, please complete our online enquiry form.

Fit to Fly Certificate & COVID test

Pall Mall Medical offers this test via a home testing kit and not via an in-clinic appointment. The kit is posted to you your chosen address, containing clear instructions along with a pre-paid envelope for you to send your sample directly to our laboratory. You will receive the kit the next working day after placing your order usually before 4pm. You will need to follow the instructions within the kit and then send the kit directly back to our lab which is in London. You can do this by:

  • Using the prepaid envelope provided by us within the kit – you can then put this in a relevant post box
  • Taking to the post office and asking them to send for you
  • Organising a courier service

Once the sample reaches our London laboratory, the results are usually available within 72 hours – this means results can be sent within two hours, 24 hours or 72 hours; it can vary. From placing your order the whole process usually takes between 4-6 days, however Royal Mail is currently taking longer than usual due to the Christmas post

Your responsibilities

Please note it is your responsibility to check the travel requirements of the airline and country you are traveling to, as well as to ensure your results are received in the time frame required by the airline and country.

Test results

While test results are normally available within 3-5 days from receipt of the sample by the lab, we cannot guarantee these turnaround times. We cannot guarantee nor have any control over Royal Mail turnaround times. We cannot be held liable for any knock-on implications should delivery timescales be longer than those advertised.

What we can guarantee

We will work as best we can to get your test processed as quickly as possible. We are confident that the timelines we have advised as above are achievable in almost all cases.

What we can’t guarantee

We can’t guarantee the times described above. While it’s very unlikely that we won’t achieve these targets, we need to make all travellers aware that the lab we use, while one of the UK’s best and largest, is experiencing very high volumes of requests and therefore results are occasionally delayed.
We cannot take responsibility for any travel disruption, but rest assured, we will be working with you all the way to make sure your travel is successful.
