What can a private ENT specialist help with?

Endoscopic sinus surgery

Inflamed or blocked sinuses can cause a number of problems including a feeling of a blocked nose, pus from the nose, problems with smell,  pressure or congestion in the nose and headaches. Endoscopic sinus surgery enables consultants to treat problems with the sinuses without needing to make incisions in the face to access the sinuses.

Nasal polyps

These small tissue growths form inside the nasal passages and sinuses and can cause problems with a person’s breathing, sense of taste or smell and cause a runny nose. Our private ENT specialists will treat them with medication to shrink them or they can be removed during endoscopic surgery.

Facial Discomfort
There are many reasons for facial discomfort and headaches.  Problems with sinuses may cause pain in the face. An ENT consultant is able to diagnose and help you manage this problem.
Nasal discharge and blockages

Excessive or persistent nasal discharge can be caused by a number of problems including allergies, nasal polyps and rhinitis, an issue which causes blockages in the nasal passages due to inflammation.

Nasal Deformity

Deformities to the nasal passage can be present at birth or caused by nasal trauma, such as a fracture to the nose. Some medical conditions can also cause nasal deformities.

Watering from the eyes – If caused by blocked tear duct, can be operated endoscopically to correct this without leaving a scar on the face.

Dizziness and vertigo

Dizziness and vertigo are caused by a number of different issues including dehydration or low blood pressure. In some cases, problems with the ear, such as an infection, can cause people to feel dizzy or nauseous.

Tinnitus

A constant buzzing or ringing in the ears is known as tinnitus and can cause problems such as sleep issues or impact on concentration. Tinnitus has a range of causes from a build-up of ear wax to an ear infection. Our ENT specialists can help diagnose the cause of the problem and advise on various treatment methods.

Hearing loss

For any reason can be diagnosed and managed by our highly experienced audiologists.

Discharge from ear

Sudden onset of ear discharge,  persistent ear discharge for long periods or recurrent ear discharge needs to be investigated and treated medically or surgically.

Facial plastic surgery

Any problems of the face such as scars, moles etc can be corrected surgically.

Cosmetic solutions such as improving the appearance of the nose, eyelids, brow and face, by non-surgical means using muscle relaxation injections, dermal fillers and chemical peel. Or surgically by means of a rhinoplasty (cosmetic nose surgery), blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery & eye bag removal), brow lift, otoplasty or pinnaplasty, (pinning back ears)  and facelifts by various techniques are also provided by ENT consultants specially trained in facial cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

A recurrent sore throat

Can be due to infections, acid reflux or allergies. A consultation with an ENT surgeon will help in reaching the right diagnosis and treatment – medical or surgical.

Change in voice

This needs to be investigated to find the root of the cause,  an ENT specialist is well equipped for reaching a diagnosis and if required, providing the best course treatment.

Swellings of the face and neck

A sudden onset in swelling of face, with or without pain, needs examination and investigation by one of our private ENT specialists. Some of these lumps can be of a serious nature.

At Pall Mall Medical, our consultant surgeons can also perform endoscopic anterior skull base surgery, rhinoplasty (nose jobs) and otoplasty (ear pinning) surgeries for medical and cosmetic reasons.
