More about our offer!

A blood test is the best way to discover why you may be feeling unwell, because it tells you what’s happening inside your body. Although it only takes a few minutes, a blood test is a miracle of medical science. That’s because it can find as many as 150 different medical conditions. So, it does the detective work, to help doctors come up with the right diagnosis.

We've designed a general blood test to check over 30+ markers in your blood, all commonly used by doctors to identify any health concerns. This is a great idea if you're looking for a general blood test that checks for the following:

  • Blood count
  • Kidney function
  • Liver function
  • Thyroid function
  • Cardiac / muscle enzymes
  • Iron and bone markers
  • Blood glucose
  • Cholesterol levels including HDL and LDL

The Well Person Blood Test also includes a PSA check for men, which checks markers that could indicate prostate cancer or a CA125 check for women, which checks markers that could indicate ovarian cancer.

You can book a private blood test appointment, carried out by our doctors, nurses and phlebotomists with no NHS referral needed. Same and next day appointments can be booked at any of our clinics located in Manchester and Liverpool city centre and at our privately owned hospital in Newton-le-Willows (conveniently located between Manchester and Liverpool).

Most test results are sent by email within two to three working days, some specific tests may take a little longer. If anything shows up that needs further investigation or treatment, we can arrange an appointment with one of our private GPs who can advise the best course of action.

Who would benefit from a breast ultrasound?

Patients who would benefit from a breast ultrasound scan are typically those who need additional imaging to assess breast tissue for abnormalities or specific conditions.

Suitable candidates for the scan include:

  • Young women with dense breast tissue who are more likely to have inconclusive mammograms as they can obscure masses
  • Women with breast lumps, felt during a self-examination, to determine whether the lump is solid, which would indicate a tumour, or fluid-filled, which would indicate a cyst
  • Patients wanting peace of mind to differentiate simple cysts, which are benign and fluid-filled, from more complex cysts or solid masses that may need further evaluation
  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding that are experiencing lumps, pain or nipple discharge – an ultrasound scan is an alternative to a mammogram in this instance
  • Patients who are experience pain in a specific area of the breast to help identify an underlying cause which is usually an abscess, cyst or trauma
  • Women who are at high risk of breast cancer, such as those with BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations or a strong family history, may opt for an ultrasound in addition to mammograms and MRIs for more thorough screening
  • Patients who have had abnormal mammogram results and are looking for a quick appointment to provide peace of mind
  • Women with breast implants who experience pain, lumps or changes in breast shape to assess the integrity of the implants or to detect complications such as implant rupture or capsular contracture
  • Male patients with gynecomastia or breast lumps to rule out breast cancer
  • Women with unexplained nipple discharge to help identify underlying causes such as intraductal papilloma, dilated ducts, or other benign conditions
