What is otoplasty (ear correction) surgery?
Ear correction surgery, also known as an Otoplasty or a Pinnaplasty is a surgical procedure to correct prominent or protruding ears.
During the treatment our expert facial surgeons will make an incision along the crease-line behind your ear and remove any excess cartilage that is causing it to protrude. The ear is then pinned back along the fold to its new position, closer to the head.
We see lots of men who are unhappy with the shape and size of their ears and want to change them. During a free consultation you can discuss what you're trying to achieve with your chosen surgeon who will advise on the best approach to get your desired look.
Your operation will be carried out in our state-of-the-art private hospital and we have comprehensive aftercare for complete peace of mind.
Surgeon consultations in-clinic or via video

Otoplasty (ear correction)
What results can I expect from otoplasty (ear correction) surgery?
The result of an Otoplasty procedure is naturally reshaped or resized ears that lie closer to your head. One to two weeks post-op any swelling should have subsided and you will be able to see the results of your surgery. Lots of our patients tell us that they feel much more confident and happy following their procedure.
“My experience & transformation were a complete success”
I had been insecure about my ears since I was 12, so having surgery was something I had always considered and felt like I needed. I chose Pall Mall because they seemed so professional and caring. I was slightly wary before my procedure but put my trust in Mr. Siddiqui and he completely put me at ease.

What happens during
otoplasty (ear correction) surgery?
From your first call or email, we’re here to look after you. Whether you're researching about the procedures available to correct your ears and would like more information, or you're ready to meet a surgeon to see what results you can achieve, our patient co-ordinators are here to help.
The consultation process involves the surgeon examining your ears and then starting the journey towards correcting them. This will involve a conversation regarding the shape and size you'd like and understand why you'd like the procedure. The surgeon will also explain the surgery process, what results to expect and risks that may be involved.
The Pre-Op element of your operation involves you coming into our clinic where you will meet your nurse who will conduct a medical health check so that we can assess if you are fit for surgery.
All patients undergo MRSA checks and some may have to do a blood/urine test.
Crucially for the procedure, we will take photographs of your ears for our medical record. A nurse will then be on hand to answer as many questions as you have, as well as providing a point of contact for the intervening time until your operation.
We are well aware that having such personal surgery can have a big effect on a person and therefore we want to reassure you by saying that feeling anxious is perfectly normal!
On the day of the surgery, you'll arrive at our private hospital and be warmly welcomed by your nurse. The nurse will then take you to your room where you can prepare and relax before the surgeon arrives.
There will be a discussion about what to expect from the operation as well as a final consent form to be signed and a general check on your health. Once this is dealt with the operation will be performed in theatre under general anaesthetic and will take 2 hours.
You won't be required to stay overnight but we do require you to come back to the clinic three times over the next six months so that we can take further photographic evidence of the progress, but most importantly make sure you are happy with the results and have no concerns.
We have a comprehensive post-surgery cover scheme which will allow you to not only come back to the clinic as often as you like for progress checks on your ear correction surgery and the results but also 24 hours, 7 days a week phone line which will connect you to one of our leading nurses.
Pall Mall during COVID-19
Our COVID-19 patient charter outlines the steps taken to make our clinics COVID secure during lockdown.
Our COVID secure clinics are open for consultation, treatments and surgeries during the November lockdown.
We provide FREE Coronavirus PCR testing for all patients prior to admission to protect fellow patients and staff.
We’re offering in-clinic and telephone consultations for all patients.
We've reduced our capacity in our two operating theatres so we have fewer patients to allow for social distancing & greater infection control.
