Procedure Details

Preparing for Laparoscopy

Ensuring you are in optimal health for surgery is essential for a smooth recovery. We recommend actions such as quitting smoking at least 4-6 weeks before surgery and following a healthy, balanced diet to enhance your recovery process.

During the Procedure

During a laparoscopy, a small incision (0.5-1 cm) is made near the belly button, allowing a laparoscope (camera) to inspect the abdominal cavity. Carbon dioxide gas is used to create space for clear visibility. Additional incisions may be made for other instruments, especially in gynaecology cases. The procedure typically lasts no more than 30 minutes and is performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthetic.

Trust our experienced team at Pall Mall Medical to provide you with expert care and support throughout your laparoscopic surgery journey. We are dedicated to ensuring your comfort, safety, and optimal recovery.
