Expert Laparoscopic Gynaecology – Minimally Invasive Keyhole Surgery

Laparoscopic gynaecology, or keyhole surgery, is a minimally invasive technique used to diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions. At Pall Mall Medical, our specialist consultants provide expert care for conditions like endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and chronic pelvic pain.

With laparoscopic surgery, patients benefit from smaller incisions, reduced discomfort, faster recovery, and highly precise treatment tailored to their need

What is laparoscopic gynaecology and what conditions can be treated?

Laparoscopic surgery involves making small incisions in the abdomen and using a camera (laparoscope) to guide the procedure. This allows surgeons to access the pelvic organs without large incisions, reducing pain, scarring, and recovery time compared to traditional surgery.

Preparing for Laparoscopy

Ensuring you are in optimal health for surgery is essential for a smooth recovery. We recommend actions such as quitting smoking at least 4-6 weeks before surgery and following a healthy, balanced diet to enhance your recovery process.

During the Procedure

During a laparoscopy, a small incision (0.5-1 cm) is made near the belly button, allowing a laparoscope (camera) to inspect the abdominal cavity. Carbon dioxide gas is used to create space for clear visibility. Additional incisions may be made for other instruments, especially in gynaecology cases. The procedure typically lasts no more than 30 minutes and is performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthetic.

Trust our experienced team at Pall Mall Medical to provide you with expert care and support throughout your laparoscopic surgery journey. We are dedicated to ensuring your comfort, safety, and optimal recovery.
