Preservé Breast Augmentation

What’s the difference between Motiva Preserve breast implants and traditional implants?

Motiva Preserve represents a new paradigm in Breast Augmentation (BA) surgery. Everyone’s talking about it - TikTok is blowing up with stories from elated patients. Patients and surgeons across the world are super impressed with the results from this innovative new approach to breast augmentation.

So you’re probably wondering: what’s the actual difference between Motiva Preservè breast implants and other, more traditional, breast implants?

First of all: What is Preservè Breast Augmentation?

The revolutionary Preservè breast augmentation method uses specialised, patented equipment to create a pocket for the implants within the existing breast tissue for an ultra-natural aesthetic that maintains a natural appearance over time. Preservè implants are designed to work in harmony with your body.

This gentler, more natural approach to breast augmentation means faster recovery and healing times, with many patients able to return to work after 3 days, and resume almost all physical activity just 3 weeks after surgery.

Pall Mall is amongst the first cosmetic surgery clinics in the North West to offer Preservè breast augmentation surgery under the care of Professor Hindocha, one of the few surgeons trained in the Motiva Preservè approach and one of few offering the treatment under a local anaesthetic.

What’s the difference between Motiva Preservè breast implants and traditional breast implants?

The biggest difference between Motiva Preservè and other kinds of implants is where the implant sits. With Preservè implants, the breast tissue nests around the implant. Other implants typically sit under the breast tissue (sub-glandular) or under the chest muscle (sub-muscular).

Because the surgery itself is discreet and avoids any cutting or dissection, it makes Preservè breast augmentation different to traditional ‘boob job’ surgery in a number of ways:

Common Questions Answered

How is Preservè breast augmentation surgery performed and how is it different to other breast enlargement surgery?

Preservè breast augmentation is the only breast enlargement procedure that is performed with local anaesthetic rather than general anaesthetic or sedation.

Motiva Preservè breast implants are fitted inside the breast tissue via a small incision that’s around half the size of other breast implant scars. The result is a more natural appearance and minimal impact on the surrounding nerves and muscles. However, this also means there needs to be a sufficient amount of existing breast tissue to accommodate and support the implant, which isn’t always necessary with other breast enlargement methods.

How big is the scar from Preservè breast augmentation?

Preservè breast implant scars are typically 2.5cm - 3cm in length, hidden discreetly under the breast crease.

Who is Preservè breast augmentation best for?

Preservè breast augmentation is best suited for those that want a more subtle breast enlargement of 1 to 2.5 cup sizes and have enough existing breast tissue to support the implant placement.

Minimal disruption to the nerves and muscle also makes Preservè implants a great option for athletes, sports players and anybody that wants a minimal risk of sensation changes.

Can you breastfeed with Motiva Preservè breast implants?

Yes. Motiva Preservè breast implants (and most other types too). Any type of breast augmentation surgery can interfere with breast feeding

Are Motiva Preservè breast implants long lasting?

Yes, the Ergonomix2 material of the Preservè implant is engineered for stability and shape-retaining qualities over time.

Can Preservè implants be combined with a breast uplift?

Yes, Preservè implants can be combined with a breast lift (mastopexy). Keep in mind that the surgeries are performed differently: mastopexy requires general anaesthesia while Preservè breast augmentation is performed with local anesthetic and sedation. Your consultant may suggest a staged approach in this scenario.

What type of implant is used?

Preservè implants are made from patented Ergonomix2 silicone, typically in sizes 150cc-320cc.

Is Preservè more expensive?

Preservè implants can cost a little more than other types of breast implant - though you can pay on finance.

Are Motive Preservè implants safe?

Yes, studies have shown that Preservè implants have a lower risk of folding, rupturing or rippling thanks to the ultra-smooth surface and double-wall build. Motiva implants hold a CE mark for European markets and are backed by clinical studies showing good safety.

How long do Preservè implants last?

Preservè implants will typically need to be replaced after 10 years, as with other breast implants, however they can last longer.

Is the procedure painful?

Many patients report being able to effectively manage pain with over-the-counter medication.

Are Preservè implants a good choice for a first breast augmentation?

Yes, Motiva Preservè breast implants are specifically designed for first-time breast augmentation.

What size Preservè implant should I choose?

It completely depends on the aesthetic you want to achieve. Your surgeon will be able to discuss your options. If you’re browsing before-and-after photos to decide a size, just remember it takes at least 4 weeks for the breasts to fully settle down after surgery!

Reddit has a few stories from patients that actually wished they’d chosen bigger Preservè implants, which is why it’s important to discuss your goals with your surgeon.

What are the cons of Motiva Preservè?

Preservè implants may not be the best choice if you want large implants or an increase greater than 2 cup sizes.

How long does it take to recover from Preservè breast augmentation?

Patients can expect to fully return to normal activities within 3 weeks following Preservè breast enhancement, including exercise and physical activity. Many patients can resume regular daily activities (excluding exercise) within a few days.
