Company Summary
In 2010, Pall Mall was born, a family run business with a clear vision. Fast forward 16 years and we have spearheaded the business, trebling our workforce along the way and laying down clear and ambitious growth plans for the future. We were also recognised in the Sunday Times ‘Best Places To Work 2023’ list.
Our purpose is to provide on-demand, high quality private healthcare and cosmetic surgery that meets the needs and expectations of patients and our vision is to be recognised and respected as the most patient-centric private healthcare provider in the north-west, by providing our patients with the best possible care, treatment and outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
The Outpatients Nurse will provide safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care within our Manchester Outpatient Department. You will support consultants and surgeons in delivering consultations, diagnostics, pre- and post-operative care, and minor procedures, ensuring the highest clinical standards and an exceptional patient experience.
The key to success:
We are looking for a nurse who is professional, compassionate, highly organised and adaptable, with excellent interpersonal skills to support patients at every stage of their journey. You will work collaboratively with consultants, healthcare assistants, and administrative colleagues to ensure patients feel informed, supported, and safe throughout their visit.
The Clinic – Manchester
Our Manchester city centre clinic provides a modern, comfortable and discreet environment for patients accessing a wide range of private GP, outpatient and diagnostic services. Unlike our hospital sites, the Manchester clinic is dedicated to outpatient care, offering consultations, treatments and diagnostics without the need for overnight stay.
The clinic has four key service areas:
Private GP Services – same-day and pre-bookable GP appointments providing general medical care, prescriptions, referrals and health checks.
Outpatient Consulting Rooms – modern consultation and treatment rooms where our consultants, and nurses carry out medical and cosmetic consultations, health assessments, pre-operative checks and wound care/follow-up care.
Minor Procedures Suite – 2 x dedicated treatment rooms for minor local anaesthetic procedures, and consultant-led treatments.
Administrative & Patient Support Services – including our front of house team, bookings coordinators and patient advisors, who ensure every patient receives a seamless, personalised journey from appointment booking through to treatment and aftercare.
Patients also benefit from access to diagnostic and surgical services at our Newton-le-Willows hospital and other sites, with the Manchester clinic acting as a convenient city-centre hub for private GP appointments, outpatient consultations and non-surgical treatments.
Duties also include:
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients attending outpatient clinics, ensuring patient safety and dignity at all times.
Support consultants and surgeons during outpatient consultations and minor procedures, including preparing rooms, equipment, and patients.
Undertake pre-assessment and post-operative care, providing health education, wound care, removal of sutures, dressings, and follow-up support.
Assist with diagnostic and radiology appointments as required, including patient preparation and care.
Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, escalating any concerns promptly to the relevant clinician.
Maintain accurate patient records in line with legal and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Provide clear, compassionate advice and information to patients and their families, supporting informed decision-making.
Contribute to infection prevention and control by ensuring all clinical areas are maintained to the highest standard.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits and clinical governance activities.
Support, supervise and guide junior colleagues and healthcare assistants within the Outpatient Department.
Ensure compliance with NMC Code of Conduct, CQC regulations, and all relevant hospital policies and procedures.
Quality Improvement
Maintain continual professional development and identify opportunities to improve outpatient nursing practice.
Raise quality concerns and work with colleagues to implement solutions that improve patient experience.
Share best practice within the nursing and wider multidisciplinary team.
Clinical Governance
Ensure safe practice and compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
Participate in audits, incident reviews, and risk management activities.
Actively contribute to service improvement initiatives within the Outpatient Department.
