Please see below for full information on our finance options.

What is liposuction?

Liposuction (commonly known as “lipo”) is a procedure that permanently removes fatty deposits from the body in order to create a more slim-line shape. Sometimes fat and saggy skin can be difficult to shift through exercise or diet alone, especially on the tummy, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees and chin.

During the operation, your cosmetic surgeon will make a small incision in the skin and use a size specific cannula attached to a suction unit to remove these stubborn fatty deposits from your body. The procedure is usually done as a day-case surgery under general anaesthetic and does not require an overnight stay.

Why would you have liposuction?

If you have been exercising more and eating healthily, you might be considering liposuction to create smoother lines and areas on your body where you just can’t seem to shift all of the fat.

Instead of being a stand-alone treatment for weight loss, it can act as an aid to get the best results once you hit your target weight.

There are a number of benefits that have been reported by patients who have had the procedure, including:

  • Having less body fat
  • Feeling better about their bodies
  • Being more confident when meeting new people
  • Wearing a wider range of clothes

How can Pall Mall Medical help?

The NHS does not commonly carry out the procedure unless a patient has associated medical problems such as lymphoedema or gynecomastia. For this reason, many people like you choose to have the procedure done at a private healthcare clinic like Pall Mall Medical instead.

When you come to Pall Mall Medical, you’ll first have a consultation with the surgeon who will later carry out the procedure once you decide to go ahead with it. During your consultation, you’ll be able to discuss the results you can realistically expect by having it done.

Call us today to book your consultation with one of our cosmetic surgeons at our Manchester or Liverpool clinic or at our private diagnostic and surgical centre in Newton-le-Willows. All procedures are performed at Newton-le-Willows and are done under general anaesthetic.

Liposuction prices and finance

Each patient is unique - different expectations and as such different requirements. We don't apply a "one size fits all" approach to cosmetic surgery, and as such the price of the surgery will depend on the exact requirements of your individual procedure. We have included an expected price range below, but really - we'd love to meet with you first to gain a better understanding of what you are looking for and what we can do to help you achieve the desired outcome.

The first step, should be to book in for a free of charge initial consultation - see the Consultant, so that you can discuss your hopes and expectations. Once the consultant has had a conversation with you, a member of our team will be in touch to provide you with a full quote. This quote will include everything - pre-op, surgery itself, post-op and aftercare.

Frequently asked questions about liposuctions

Does liposuction get rid of cellulite?

No, liposuction doesn’t get rid of cellulite, neither does it cause any further cellulite to develop. If a patient already has cellulite prior to the procedure, the removal of excess fat in that area may occasionally result in the cellulite becoming more visible.

Are there any side effects of liposuction?

Due to the nature of the procedure, patients can expect to experience some bruising for the weeks following the surgery. Localised swelling and fluid retention is also common, but will settle down as the body recovers.

As with all surgery, there is the potential risk of infection, bleeding and scarring.

What does the process of liposuction involve?

Liposuction involves having a small incision made in the skin, a size specific cannula (which is attached to a suction unit) is then inserted and the stubborn fatty deposits are drawn from the body.

This procedure is usually carried out as a day case surgery under general anesthetic, and doesn’t require an overnight stay.
