Chloe Wright Gender Affirming & Oncoplastic Surgeon

Miss Chloë Wright is a Consultant Chest Contouring and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, serving as the lead for the chest contouring service at Manchester Foundation NHS trust. With a focus on gender-affirming masculinising top surgery, she has performed over 300 procedures.

Chloë completed her medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2003, followed by comprehensive training in general and breast surgical procedures. She further refined her skills in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery through a training interface group fellowship. During her pursuit of a master's degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, she was awarded with Merit and received the prestigious Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland medal for the highest score in the Royal College of Surgeons fellowship examinations. 

Dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Chloë works closely with her patients to understand their desired outcomes. She says: "My drive to deliver this surgery comes from knowing how important it is to a person to have freedom from their chest dysphoria. It is a privilege to be able to support them on this pathway and a joy to see the positive impact that it can have on their life."

Advocating for Trans and Gender Diverse Individuals

Chloë Wright is a passionate advocate for trans rights and actively contributes to research and guideline development aimed at improving the healthcare received by trans individuals. Most recently, she co-authored the Association of Breast Surgery Guidelines for the Care of Trans and Gender-Diverse Individuals in Breast Services.

Chloë holds memberships in several professional associations, including the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists, the Association of Breast Surgery, and the Royal College of Surgeons England.
