Men's health matters: Invest in yourself with Pall Mall

No NHS GP referral needed!

Cardiovascular diseases

Heart disease and strokes are two of the main cardiovascular diseases common to men.

Our survey we found that just 31% of men would recognise the symptoms of a stroke. The main symptoms of a stroke can be remembered with one word: FAST. It stands for:

Face – the face may have dropped on one side, the individual may not be able to smile or their mouth or eye may have drooped

Arms – the person many not be able to lift both arms and keep them there because of the weakness or numbness in one arm

Speech – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all despite appearing awake. They may also have problems understanding what you are trying to say to them

Timeif you notice any of these signs or symptoms call 999 immediately

No medical insurance required!

Coronary heart disease (CHD)

This is a leading cause of death among men in the UK. The main symptoms include chest pain (also called angina), shortness of breath, pain in your neck, shoulders, jaw or arms and feeling faint or sick.

If you or a loved one have any concerns and would like to speak with an expert, we offer private cardiology consultations with prices from £250. Enquire today by calling 0161 832 2111 or enquire online.

Same and next day appointments available

Cancers

There are three cancers that mainly affect men in the UK-these include prostate, lung and bowel cancer. Our recent survey found that almost one in two men (49%) confessed they are unsure of how to check their bodies to spot potential signs of cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK, the symptoms to look out for include:

  • Needing to pee more frequently, often during the night
  • Needing to rush to the toilet
  • Difficulty in starting to pee (hesitancy)
  • Straining or taking a long time while peeing
  • Weak flow
  • Feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully
  • Blood in urine or blood in semen

If you are symptom-free but are looking for peace of mind, you can have a quick and simple blood test at Pall Mall which is often referred to as a ‘PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test’. If your PSA levels are raised, it can indicate signs of prostate cancer. We currently have 50% off our prostate cancer blood test, costing £60. You can book today by calling 0161 832 2111 or enquire online.

Sexual health

81% of men admitted would be in the dark if they had an STI. A shocking statistic that needs to be changed.

Practicing safe sex is essential. If you are concerned and want to be checked you can book a same or next day blood test at Pall Mall, meaning there’s no anxious wait to find out your results. We also offer a rapid STI test, which involves a finger prick and results are provided within 20 minutes.

Flexible Payment Options

Mental health

Despite being prevalent, mental health problems are underreported among men due to stigma – a societal change that is being worked on across a range of charities across the UK and beyond.

Sadly, men are at a higher risk of suicide compared to women and it remains one of the leading causes of death for men under 50.

If you’d like to speak with an expert, you can book a same or next day private GP appointment at Pall Mall with prices from £50.

If you’d like to speak with a consultant about any issues you or a loved one may be experiencing you can do so by booking a private psychiatry consultation. The first thing to understand is that your mental health is like your physical health. When something goes wrong it’s not your fault and you need the right kind of specialist treatment and at Pall Mall we’re here to support you.

Up to 50% off our MRI packages

Spreading awareness for men’s health

We’d like to remind men that making your health a priority is important, and regular check-ups, screenings and booking an appointment when a problem arises could save your life.

The best way to look after yourself is with regular checks which allows you to track any changes in your health. It can tell you what’s going on inside your body, even if you look and feel fine on the outside!

At Pall Mall you can book a health screen which consists of a detailed and discreet, personal health assessment performed by one of our private GPs to combine your medical history, lifestyle factors and a physical examination with some of the most advanced diagnostic testing available with prices from £295.
