What is breast uplift (mastopexy) surgery?
Breast uplift surgery, also known as a Mastopexy is a popular procedure that reshapes the breasts to create a more uplifted, youthful appearance. This procedure is perfect for women whose breasts have lost their shape or fullness after childbirth, weight loss or simply as part of the ageing process. After surgery, our patients tell us that they are very happy with the outcome: a fuller, firmer, lifted, symmetrical bust.
If you’re looking to increase the size of your breasts alongside the uplift surgery, you may wish to combine this procedure with breast implants – a common combination we see at Pall Mall Cosmetics. You can discuss the best option for you during a free consultation with one of our expert breast surgeons.
Our team of patient co-ordinators, surgeons and nurses have supported lots of women who have undergone breast uplift surgery so you can rest assured that you'll get the best possible advice, care and results.
What results can I expect from breast uplift surgery?
After surgery your breasts will be more uplifted and the position of your nipples and areolas will be improved. You can expect some swelling and bruising for a few weeks and any scarring will fade over the next 12 months. You'll be able to see the final result a few months after the procedure.
“Thank you Pall Mall!”
I chose Pall Mall for a breast uplift with implants because I had lost weight and felt insecure and like a part of me was missing. I considered surgery for about 6 months and decided to go for it, since then I have felt completely confident in my own skin and I can now wear clothes that I would have never worn before.

What happens during
breast uplift surgery?
From your first call or email, we’re here to look after you. Whether you're still researching about a breast uplift procedure and would like more information, or you're ready to meet a surgeon to see what results you can achieve, our team of patient co-ordinator's are here to help.
Your consultation with our surgeon will take between 20-45 minutes and will be an easy and open conversation about the surgery and how the breast will be lifted higher, as well as discussing potential complications such as swelling, numbness or cosmetic issues.
Your surgeon will remove excess skin and reshape the breast tissue. They will also reposition your nipple, lifting it higher.
Following your procedure dressings will be applied to the incisions. There may be a small drainage tube placed temporarily in your breasts to drain any fluid or blood following surgery.
The drains will be removed before you are discharged from the hospital. You may be asked to wear a special bra to help support your breasts.
You will need to rest until any effects of the general anaesthetic have worn off. You may need pain relief medication.
Our hospital in Newton-le-Willows is built for your comfort so that once you arrive you feel calm and relaxed about the operation. The surgery itself takes around two to three hours, where you will be sedated with a general anaesthetic and will involve an incision into your breast that has been agreed upon with your surgeon.
After the surgery, patients tend to stay at the hospital for around 1-2 days. During this time your breasts may appear swollen or discoloured, however, over time the incision lines will fade and the results improve gradually over the next six months.
Don't worry though, you won't be left alone as the medical team here will be keeping in touch and we ask that you come into the clinic multiple times over the next six weeks to ensure everything is progressing as expected.
Our aftercare programme is the leader in the industry. Consequently, you are free to come in after your procedure as often as you like or can contact our amazing nurses on a 24/7 call line. You may be advised to avoid any strenuous exercise in the weeks following surgery and follow your surgeon's recovery plan to allow you to achieve the expected results by 6-9 months.
