“My face didn’t match my body. I was self-conscious about my face and neck. I was always looking in the mirror to see how bad I looked, so I made the decision to do something about it. I am really happy about the results. My hollow cheeks have disappeared, my jowls have gone, and my lips have lifted too. My neck has lost the wrinkles which were so ageing. I don’t feel self-conscious now and I have more confidence in myself.

Facelift Before and After

Which Face Lift is right for me?
Preservé Deep Plane Facelift
We are proud to offer the Preservé Deep Plane Facelift. Unlike traditional methods that simply pull the skin, the Preservé approach works beneath the muscular layer (the SMAS) to gently reposition the entire facial structure. By releasing tension on the skin and focusing on the foundation of the face, we restore youthful volume to the cheeks and a crisp definition to the jawline .
The SMAS Facelift
The SMAS Facelift is a classic and highly effective procedure that targets this specific layer of connective tissue. By tightening the SMAS layer rather than just the skin, we can achieve a firm, refreshed appearance that looks remarkably natural. This is an ideal solution for patients looking to address moderate sagging in the lower face and mid-face areas.
MACS Lift (Mini Facelift)
For patients noticing the early signs of aging who desire a swifter recovery, the MACS Lift offers a sophisticated, minimally invasive alternative. This procedure uses smaller incisions and specialised "purse-string" sutures to lift the facial tissues vertically. It is specifically designed to target the jawline and lower cheeks, providing a subtle yet impactful "refresh" for those who aren't yet ready for a full facelift.
What’s the difference between a MACS Facelift and a Deep Plane Facelift?
Feature | MACS Facelift | Deep Plane Facelift |
Technique | Uses smaller incisions; lifts skin and superficial tissues in mid-face and jowls | Repositions deeper facial muscles and structural tissues |
Results | Subtle, natural improvement for mild–moderate sagging | More dramatic, comprehensive, longer-lasting rejuvenation |
Recovery time | Shorter recovery; less swelling and bruising | Longer recovery due to deeper surgical approach |
Suitable for | Younger patients or early signs of ageing | Older patients or more advanced facial ageing |

Neck Lift
Often, the earliest signs of aging appear not on the face, but in the neck and jawline area. This surgery focuses on tightening the neck muscles and removing lax skin, creating a smooth, elegant contour that complements the rest of your facial features.
Lip Lift
As we age, the space between the nose and the upper lip often lengthens, causing the lip to thin and turn inward. By subtly shortening this distance, a Lip Lift reveals more of the pink lip tissue and improves "tooth show" when smiling, providing a permanent, youthful pout that fillers alone cannot replicate.
Combination Surgery
Facial rejuvenation is rarely one-size-fits-all. For instance, pairing a Preservé Deep Plane Facelift with a Neck Lift or a Lip Lift can ensure that every element of the face ages at the same rate. These bespoke combination plans allow our surgeons to address multiple concerns in a single session.

What happens during a Facelift?
From your first call or email, we’re here to support you. Whether you're still exploring ways to achieve a more youthful appearance and need more information about Facelifts, or you're ready to meet a surgeon to discuss potential results, our team of Patient Coordinators is ready to help you.
Free, no obligation consultation
At your free consultation your surgeon will examine your face and then explain the incision process and how the best results can be reached. The consultation will last between 25-40 minutes, during which you can ask questions freely, and the surgeon will address any concerns you may have. You can have as many surgeon consultations as you need to feel fully confident in booking your surgery
Additionally, they will also talk you through the next steps and what to expect from surgery, as well as any risks that could occur so that you feel fully informed.
Pre-operation
Before you undergo surgery we will invite you to one of our clinics to discuss the upcoming procedure. The nurse handling your appointment will be happy to answer any questions you have about your Face and Neck Lift surgery.
Your nurse will also run an MRSA check as well as blood and urine tests to ensure you’re medically fit for the operation. Additionally, we will take photos of your face before the surgery to keep a medical record for both you and our team.
Surgery
Your surgery will take place at our private hospital, which offers free on-site parking and comfortable en-suite rooms for you to relax in before and after your procedure.
Our team will help you feel comfortable and settled before the surgeon arrives to perform a few health checks. After that, we’ll get your consent and take you to the operating room.
Once in the theatre, general anaesthetic will be used and the operation will take place over the course of 1.5 to 3 hours.
All pre-op, surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, hospital fee, implant fee and any other necessary medical materials costs are included in your Face Lift package.
Post-surgery
Our staff are always eager to stay in touch with our patients after surgery, so in the weeks following your facelift, we’ll arrange to see you at least three times - after one, two and six weeks. This will allow us to keep on top of your recovery and results. We will also take some more pictures to record the results of your procedure
Aftercare
We provide comprehensive 2 year aftercare with unlimited post-op appointments with your surgeon and our nursing team. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we’ll only be happy with the results when you are.

Is a Facelift suitable for me?
There are many reasons why someone may consider a Facelift with or without a Neck Lift. Typically, people wish to restore the appearance of their face to address the natural ageing process. We welcome male and female patients of all ages, but we most commonly see those in their 40s through 80s.
If you’re thinking about enhancing your appearance with a Facelift, we encourage you to book a free consultation with one of our gmc registered facial surgeons. It’s a great opportunity to discuss your goals and get personalised, expert advice.
What areas of the face does a Face and Neck Lift affect?
There are several techniques for Facelifts, and the one used will depend on the results you’re looking for. A Face and Neck Lift can target multiple areas, including:
Forehead area
Areas surrounding the eyes
Cheek definition
Chin/jowl reshaping
Temple areas
Facial muscles
Neck areas
The least invasive surgical option is the MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) facelift, often referred to as a mini-facelift. It uses a “short scar” technique, which creates a fresh, natural appearance. Small incisions are made at the temples and use the existing creases around the ear area. The procedure does not involve a long scar behind the ear – all scars are hidden by the hairline or within the natural creases.
Many patients will choose to include eyelid surgery alongside the Facelift in order to fully restore a youthful appearance within the upper, mid and lower face areas.
How long will it take to recover from a facelift?
The recovery time for Facelift surgery varies depending on the technique used. Generally, the MACS Facelift is less invasive than a full Face and Neck Lift, which is why its recovery time is typically shorter.
How long will the results of facelift surgery last?
Most patients state that the results of a Facelift procedure can last around 10 years, but this depends on the elasticity of your skin and your lifestyle: diet, body weight, exposure to sunlight, consumption of alcohol and smoking habits. If you lead a healthy lifestyle, you will likely get the maximum benefit from surgery.
Why do I need to go private for a Facelift?
The NHS does not commonly carry out a cosmetic Facelift unless there is an associated and significant distress or pain. For this reason, many people choose to have the procedure done at a private healthcare clinic like ours. There is no waiting list, and you do not need a referral to have a cosmetic operation performed.
We can ensure your safety at our CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulated hospital in Newton-le-Willows and at our city centre clinics in Manchester,Liverpool and Leeds where you’ll have your initial consultation as well as your pre and post-op appointments.
Our surgeons are dedicated to excellence, holding memberships in organisations like the BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgeons). These memberships reflect our commitment to delivering the gold standard of care you can expect from a top-tier surgical hospital.
Does a facelift get rid of wrinkles?
A facelift can reduce the appearance of some lines and deeper folds, particularly those caused by loose skin and tissues that have descended with age. For example, facelift surgery can improve deeper folds around the mouth, jowls and changes in the lower face by repositioning and supporting the underlying facial tissues.
Does a facelift make you look younger?
A facelift is designed to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance by addressing changes such as sagging cheeks, jowls, reduced jawline definition and loose facial skin.
Rather than changing the way you look completely, modern facelift techniques like the Deep Plane Facelift aim to reposition tissues that have descended with age and restore definition to the cheeks and jawline, while maintaining your natural facial features.
Does a facelift get rid of marionette lines?
Facelifts are generally effective for significantly reducing the appearance of deep skin folds that run from the corners of the mouth down towards the chin - also known as marionette lines.
Facelift procedures - especially the Deep Plane Facelift - are designed to reposition the deep facial structures and muscles that contribute to the appearance of these lines. However, marionette lines can also be influenced by skin quality, facial volume and individual anatomy. That's why it's always best to book a consultation and speak to a facial surgeon who can explain what degree of improvement is realistic in your particular case.
Does a facelift get rid of a brow crease?
A standard facelift is not usually the main surgical treatment for a brow or forehead crease.
Facelift surgery predominantly addresses ageing of the mid and lower face, including sagging cheeks, jowls, deeper folds and loss of jawline definition.
Although the exact areas treated depend on the facelift technique, horizontal forehead creases and changes in brow position often require an approach typical to a brow lift procedure.
