This morning, viewers of Good Morning Britain were met with a stark, stomach-churning reminder of the terrifying reality hidden behind the glossy allure of "cosmetic tourism."
Lauren Simon, star of The Real Housewives of Cheshire, appeared on the program to share her harrowing survival story following a botched breast reduction and rhinoplasty in Istanbul, Turkey. Images broadcasted on the show revealed the horrific physical toll of her ordeal, leaving her with a blackening, dying nipple(tissue necrosis) and gaping, fluid-leaking holes beneath her chest.
Mr Hussain, our experienced breast surgeon that performed Lauren's corrective surgery, gave a chilling verdict: Lauren's body was fighting the botched surgery as if it were a cancer. He remarked that it was an absolute miracle she was still alive.
Speaking to Pall Mall in 2025, Lauren said: “I genuinely thought I might die,” she admitted. “It was terrifying to see my body react that way.” Lauren’s breast was infected and, thanks to her doctor and the right medication, the infection was treated.
At Pall Mall Medical, stories like Lauren’s are precisely why we launched our Cosmetic Crusaders campaign. We are standing up to expose the hidden, life-altering dangers of traveling abroad for discounted surgery, and campaigning for the safety, transparency, and local aftercare that every single patient deserves.
